Delegate since 2019 and appropriations leader. Shetty serves on the Appropriations Committee and chairs its Health & Social Services Subcommittee.

- Former deputy majority whip and party caucus chair. She served as deputy majority whip (2020‑2022), is vice‑chair of the Montgomery County Delegation and chairs the Democratic Party Caucus.
- Co‑sponsor of HB0837 on vocational guidance. Shetty helped pass the More Opportunities for Career‑Focused Students Act.
- Co‑sponsor of HB0415 family literacy program. She supported the bill establishing a pilot program enabling incarcerated parents to record books for their children.
- Advocate for social services and equitable education. Shetty champions investments in healthcare, education and transit and is active in Women Legislators and Latino and Transit caucuses.
