Who We Are

The Montgomery County Education Association (MCEA) represents approximately 14,000 classroom teachers, school counselors, speech pathologists, media specialists, and other educators in Montgomery County, MD. MCEA is also part of the Maryland State Education Association (MSEA) and the National Education Association (NEA).

Our Values

MCEA is committed to ensuring that public schools are excellent places for students to learn and for educators to work. We are also a member-led, democratically run union.

What We Do

MCEA members organize and advocate to improve our students’ learning conditions and our working conditions, including salaries and benefits. We work with parents and the community, lobby elected officials who determine how much funding our schools receive, and engage in politics to elect pro-public-education candidates to office.

Union Benefits

By joining MCEA, MSEA, and NEA, you’ll have access to the following:

  • Million-Dollar Liability Insurance
  • Professional Development Courses
