NEW EDUCATOR ACTION TEAM (NEAT)

For early career educators in their first 10 years of teaching.

MCEA created the New Educator Action Team (NEAT) in 2017 to engage and support new educators who are in their first 10 years of teaching.  NEAT is led by early career educators, who understand the opportunities and challenges that exist when you first enter the profession.

NEAT is involved with the following MCEA programs:

NEAT Supply Store. MCEA collects gently used classroom materials at the end of each school year. In the fall, we host a NEAT store at MCEA’s headquarters (12 Taft Court, Rockville, MD 20850) and invite new and early career educators to pick up what they need.

NEAT Social Gatherings. It’s important for new and early career educators to find time to connect with one another in informal settings. We host social events throughout the school year to help build those connections.

NEAT Trainings. We convene trainings on an as-needed basis. In the past, this has included training to help you understand your contract.
