MCEA is proud to share the Apple Ballot initial endorsements for the County Executive, County Council, and the Board of Education races. The Maryland State Education Association (MSEA) will announce its endorsements for the remaining Maryland House of Delegates and State Senate seats. Our endorsed candidates have demonstrated a strong commitment to public education, respect for educators, and support for the schools our students deserve.
The endorsements come after panels of MCEA members from a wide range of job classifications spent many hours reading extensive questionnaires and conducting in-depth interviews with candidates. These panels presented recommendations to our Political Action and Legislative Support Committee, which, in turn, presented endorsements to the MCEA Board of Directors. The Board of Directors then voted to recommend endorsements to our union’s Representative Assembly, where elected representatives from across the county’s school system debated and voted on the final endorsements.
We encourage members to review the list, share it with your community, and make a plan to vote. Together, we can elect leaders who stand with our schools, students, and us.
